Last year, it was first heard that Facebook wants to connect all their platforms, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram together. Then we were able to share the status of WhatsApp on Facebook. A few days ago, WhatsApp saw the Facebook Messenger room button, where it is possible to make video calling through Messenger by clicking. Now, Facebook will go one step further and allow you to send messages from Instagram's Direct Message (DM) to Messenger. You don't even need to download the messenger app for this.
In addition, users can now control where they want to
receive messages or calls. This means they can choose whether they want to
receive notifications in the chat or in the message request. Not only that, in
the future, users will be able to communicate with friends or family by making
video calls or messages from anywhere on Messenger or Instagram.
Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, and Stan Chudnovsky,
the head of Messenger, wrote in a blog post that the main change is that people
who use the Messenger app can now message you without downloading the Instagram
app, and vice versa.
In this blog post, they also hinted that in the future,
video calls will be seen on Facebook Watch, IGTV, Reels, TV shows, movies and
many more.
