How to remove the Google Meet icon from Gmail

Nowadays video conferencing applications like Zoom, Teamlink, Skype or Google Meet have become as important as Oxygen in our lives. Under the pressure of the situation, we have to rely on these apps for study or work. On the other hand, developers of applications are often updating their virtual meeting software and bringing new features. Tech giant Google has brought such a new feature.
Google has recently integrated its Gmail and Google Meet services. In fact, a new update to Gmail has resulted in a dedicated icon for virtual conferences, just below the Compose button in the Gmail application. Because this new feature is very useful, you do not have to install the Google Meet application separately. The new 'meet' interface is also quite different.

This feature is very useful for those who do a lot of video conferencing every day. But many are not feeling comfortable with this new interface. For now, the names of the conference participants cannot be shown in alphabetical short, which is causing some problems. However, if you want to remove this meet icon or feature from the phone's Gmail, then you do not have to do much. If you go to the Gmail application's settings menu and follow a few simple steps, you will no longer see the meet icon in Gmail.
How to get rid of meet function in Gmail app:

1. Go to the Gmail application and click on the three-line option in the top left corner.
2. Then scroll down and go to Setting option.
3. In the Settings menu, select the option to name your Gmail account.
4. Then scroll down a bit and you will see a separate section of Meet. From there, if you turn off the Show the meet tab for video calling option, the Google Meet icon will be removed.
